This G-Body manual brake conversion kits comes with:
6061-T6 ALUMINUM adapter plate w/ integrated pushrod retention cup
Matching Rubber Firewall Gasket - Keeps the engine bay sealed from the cars interior.
Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware - NO rusty bolts or nuts
Adjustable Pushrod Assembly - Engineered to work with and function correctly in G-body cars.
7/8" Bore Master Cylinder - Smaller bore master cylinders creates higher fluid pressure and reduces effort by the driver.
Optional Disc/Disc 24mm and 1.0" bore master cylinders for rear disc brakes. Message us to get you the correct size.
Brake Line Adapters - For ease of installing stock brake lines to the master cylinder supplied in the kit.
Detailed (5 Page) Installation Manual
What size master cylinder do you need?
7/8" Bore master cylinder - almost anything with rear drum.
24mm Bore master cylinder - almost anything with a GM or Ford factory rear disc calipers and some aftermarket 1-3/8" diameter 4 piston calipers.
1.0" Bore master cylinder - Any rear disc conversion with a GM metric caliper (no built in parking brake) or aftermarket 4 piston calipers with 1.75" pistons.
If you have Strange or Aerospace front or rear calipers, contact Strange or Aerospace for correct size master cylinder.
Benefits:
6 to 1 Pedal Ratio - Creates less effort by the driver to stop the car and multiplies the fluid pressure in the system. No other manual brake conversion kit can match this.
Dual Bolt Patter on the Adapter Plate - Use GM, Ford, or MOPAR master cylinders. No other manual brake conversion kit can do this.
Better pedal modulation for consistent braking - No low engine vacuum issues to worry about.
The adapter plate is CNC machined by a water jet from rigid 1/8” thick aluminum with dimensions that covers up the hole in the firewall after you remove the power booster. This modification will clean up your firewall by getting rid of the big, bulky power booster. Racers do this swap when their engine does not make enough vacuum to operate the power booster, to shed a few pound to make their car lighter, or to clean up the engine bay.
The pro-touring fans use manual brakes to get a better “feel” of their brakes when heading into a corner at a high rate of speed.
The adapter plate can also be polished up to a mirror finish if needed.
Remember:
Higher Pedal Ratio = Less Leg Effort = Increased Braking Performance
Smaller Bore Master Cylinder = Higher Fluid Pressure = Increased Braking Performance
Kit comes with a gasket matched to the adapter plate to seal the passenger compartment from the engine bay. The other kits do not offer a gasket in their kits.
Kit comes with a dual bolt pattern to run different master cylinders from GM, Ford, and MOPAR. The other manual brakes kits do not have this feature.
Kit comes with the correct size master cylinder that is matched to the size of the front and rear brakes. The other manual brake kits offer a larger bore master cylinder which generates less brake line pressure.

our G-Body
:
NON Low Drag Caliper (see below) - These type of calipers are manditory to work with the supplied 7/8" bore master cylinder.
New Rubber or Stainless Steel Flexible Brakes Lines (front and rear) - Old rubber lines will "balloon" causing loss of pressure within the braking system.
LOW Drag Calipers
LOW drag calipers came on most G-bodies. These same calipers came on 1982 -1988 G-bodies (Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass) and 1982-1997 S10 trucks and SUVs.
NON low drag calipers came on 1978-1981 G-bodies (Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass) and 1998-2003 S10 trucks and SUVs with the single piston front calipers
All replacement calipers, with stock piston size, should be rebuilt to NON low drag standards so they should work with this KIT.
Replacement part numbers are the same for all vehicles that use these calipers from 1978-2003.
Brake Line Pressure Comparison
Leg Force Pedal Ratio Master Cylinder Bore Caliper Piston Size Clamping Force
100 6 to 1 7/8" (0.875") 2.5"
4898 lb of clamping force with a manualbrakes.com kit.
100 5.5 to 1 1-1/32 (1.03") 2.5" 3240 lb of clamping force with other manual brake systems.
There is 34% more clamping force than any other other manual brake systems.
