These are fossils of rare Precambrian soft body organisms. They were supposedly discovered in an old German collection and subsequently a handful of specimens from that old collection have managed to appear at irregular intervals over the last 6-10 years at the annual Tucson Mineral shows.
The fossil impressions I have seen from this locality do vary in detail and in size and some impressions are deeper than others and some show more detail and some less.
This exceptional specimen (one of the best I have offered) has 3 distinct and well detailed Medusoid impressions.
These impressions each measure approximately 1" across.
These fossils are from soft body organisms and only leave negative impressions.
This very hard and very ancient fossil bearing rock can be safely held and examined.
This specimen would display very well upright (it is stable standing on its side) as you see in my final photo.

This host rock measures approximately
6-1/2" x 3-5/8" x ranges up to almost 1-1/4" thick.
This specimen weighs approximately 859 grams.
