Japanese Vintage Kimono Geisha Doll 41cm / 行灯 ANDON Lamp
The doll is one of cloth dolls. The doll is standing beside a Japanese traditional lamp light ANDON.
Geisha are Japanese female entertainers trained in singing, dancing, the art of conversation and other arts in order
to serve gests as hired companions at Japanese high rank restaurants.
Generic name of clothes wear doll of female type. Clothes of Japanese dances such as Wisteria madam FUJIMUSUME
and Madam who dips water of sea SHIOKUMI are often worn.
They are called OYAMA NINGYO (doll) the female impersonator doll commemorating Jirosaburo Oyama puppet manipulator.
The manufacturing method applies to the clothes doll.
