APPARATUS
A very rare and elaborate PATTERSON X-RAY SCREEN radiation viewing shroud
for head mounting and viewing by eye.
PATTERSON SCREEN CO. of Towanda, PA.
was the industry leader and X-RAY screens back at the dawn of X-RAY technology after its introduction around 1894-1896 and produced the HOLY GRAIL of X-RAY equipment.
Measures 12 1/2" x 10 1/2" x 9 1/2" in closed position.
Plush furry black cloth viewing eye shroud in great shape with no rot or
cloth worn away.
Made with a wood underbody with grained cloth overlay and metal (aluminum) trim.   In excellent shape.   Front section is hinged to reveal the RED THICK GLASS FILTER SCREEN for cleaning and/ or replacement.
Wear and scratches is consistent with age and use.  One head strap is torn away at mount area because the cloth strap is thin and dry - but can be doubled
up and sewed back for display.  P
